here with my patio doors open, listening to the birds enjoying themselves in my garden. The air is filled with the
aromatic fragrance of honey-suckle and lavender gently drifting through my
office from the garden. My dog is laying quietly
snoring by my side, after a gentle early morning stroll in the countryside that
surrounds our home, while the rest of the world was rushing to their work. I can recall the days that I
would spend feeling as if I was chained to my desk, sat in a hot, noisy, negative
office with the unpleasant
smell of cutting fluids and un-washed students wafting
through my door accompanied with the loud shrieks and screams of metal being
tortured on drills and lathes. From my office cell, I could
see the outside world, through unwashed windows and over barbed wire fences
as my day ticked by second by second minute after minute, days becoming weeks
filled with the hassle of having a Boss and all the others making
demands on my time.... as I served my time. The freedom to work from home,
can be taken lightly, or even understated, but on days like today its true value
is there to be enjoyed. In
my humble opinion it is priceless.
